Note: Though uncommon, Krugerrand tungsten fakes are as dense as gold and cannot be distinguished using the KIO Gold Tester. However, one can easily distinguish tungsten fakes by dropping the coin on a table or pinging it with another coin. A fake will have a short-lived, dull sound when compared to genuine gold. If you're testing American Gold Eagles, you won't have to worry about tungsten fakes; tungsten's properties do not allow it to hold the shape of a Gold Eagle coin!
